FAQs: The Library
FAQs: Finding Books
- How do I find a book in the library?
- Does the library have class textbooks?
- The library does not have textbooks for every class. Some teachers may leave 1-2 textbooks on reserve in the library if they have extra copies.
- How do I read a call number?
- The Studzinski Library uses the Dewey Decimal Classification System to categorize its books. The collection starts in the 000s and ends in the 900s.
- How do I check out a book?
- All books must be checked out by a librarian at the circulation desk. You must have your student ID to check out a book.
- When does a book need to be returned to the library?
- Books may be kept for two weeks. Depending on other requests for the use of the books, resources might be available for renewal. Ask a member of the library staff.
- Are there library fines for late or lost materials?
- No, there is no fine for late returned materials. You will not, however, be allowed to access other library resources until the late material is returned. Lost materials must be replaced by the student, or the student must pay for the replacement of the resource.
- How do I get a book that the library doesn't have?
- If there is a book that you need that the library doesn't have, the library can request the book through interlibrary loan. If it is a book that would be beneficial to the library collection the library may also purchase the book. Please contact a librarian for further assistance.
